We are in the process of putting the final touches on Gabe's first birthday party. It has tunred out to be bigger than what we had originally planned of course! We have invited over 100 adults and kids :-) The party has a cow theme. Going back to my roots!! Everything is going to have cow spots. We are really excited about all of it. Not sure how and where everyone is going to fit in the house but it will all work. Gabe is starting to wiggle a bit more when he is standing on things. Franny said earlier this week that he was standing in his crib without holding anything! So walking may not be far around the corner. How exciting is that?!! He is just so amazing to watch and see him learn each and everyday. His laugh is amazing and so fun to hear.
I am continuing to look for a teaching position for the fall. There is only a couple weeks to go before inservice starts. So I will continure to pray that something will come through for me. I know that God is going to put me exactly where I am suppossed to be when it is right. Hard to believe that on some days but I do know it :-) I did finish all my courses last week. I learned so much in the classes that I wish there was more classes to take. I am so excited to get into a classroom and begin. Excited and scared to death all at the same time!!
We are heading to Wisconsin at the beginning of August. Well possibly! We have already gotten our tickets but then I found out that if I were hired for a position to teach that new teacher inservice starts three days before regular inservice. SOOOO we are keeping the trip on stand by. It is sort of up in the air at this point. I would rather get a position and not be able to go of course. So we will see what happens.
The floors in the house have been brought a complete halt. We were moving along really well and then had some issues with the guy that was advising us on how to do everything. So all the flooring is out, the holes are chalked, and well we are walking on the cement! At this point we know that we want to stain them. We had a great guy from Infinite Design come over and he quoted us at $3000 to do everything. We would be doing the prep although that is almost completed. It is a great price for this type of project but we just don't have it!! So we are going to continue living with the floors as palin jane cement. Hey it could be a whole lot worse I am sure.
Jason continues to stay busy with church activities and work. He has been running with ME! Yes I know hard to believe that I am running. I am doing about 3/4 of a mile 2-3 times a week along with my strength training classes. I am really enjoying the time with him and being able to do something that I know he truly has a passion for. I am of course not running at his pace but it helps him work other muscles as he says :-)
That is the latest update from here! Until next time.
