Holidays Whewww

Wow I did not realize until Jason pointed out that I have not updated this in over a month. Shows how extremely busy we have been over the holiday season. We had so many Christmas parties that I was starting to run out of White Elephant gifts!! I cannot remember a Christmas season when we were so extremely busy. On Christmas Eve we went to church for service that morning and found out after much fussing that Gabe was not feeling well. We rushed him to urgent care thinking that he had an ear infection which he did. We actually made it back to hears Pastor Will's message! Now that was God working for us. After service we went and picked up the girls. We all woke up on Monday morning and they opened all their gifts. Then we made a HUGE Christmas breakfast before we were on the road. We all headed to Seguin to spend Christmas there. We had an awesome time. It was so wonderful to be around the entire family. We got all kinds of goodies from everyone. Gabe got some really cute clothes and fun toys too. Jason's mom then took the girls back to Bandera with her to spend the week. Jason, Gabe, and I spent the night with Tia and left early the next morning. We got back to College Station and started packing to leave early the next morning for Wisconsin. We were awake, sort of, at 4:00 am on Wednesday. We flew from College Station to Houston, Houston to Dallas, and then Dallas to Madison. It was a long day of flying for sure. Gabe did awesome! He did not cry at all and several times he slept right through take off and landing. We were both just amazed. While we were in Wisconsin we spent some time in Green Bay of course had to see Lambeau field and even better than that we saw snow!!! Moms house did not have any snow so we were really happy to see it in Green Bay. We had lunch and spent some time visiting with Grandma and cousin Jay. It was so nice to see them again and just visit. Grandma made some of her yummy homemade chicken noodle soup. Even homemade noodles. Pretty good for being almost 95! We then drove back to Madison and spent Friday with Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Chris and grandpa Roy. Mom made another yummy meal and we played a mean game of Uno attack! It was just so nice to see everyone and for everyone to meet Gabe. Everyone just fell in love with him. Oh yeah I forgot that when we got to Madison they lost all three of our bags!! We got in around noon and we got our bags at around 1:30am. So not too much of inconvenience but a worry all the same. So we flew back on Sunday to College Station. We were so glad to be home. We got things settled and then tore out the carpet in the living room. Yeah just what we wanted to be doing! We figured out with the help of mom and aunt that we had mildew growing underneath our carpet. We decided that leaving it was not healthy for any us so we are now on cement for the time being. It is truly a new decorating fashion statement I tell ya!
So today we are both back to work which was not easy to do after a week and a half off. So back to the same ole same ole.

Gabe is progressing and developing like crazy. In fact today I noticed that he is reaching for things. He was trying to get at the mirror that we have hanging on his car seat. That is something that I had not seen him do yet. While we were in Wisconsin he started getting much more mobile. He can know roll from his stomach to his back and almost from his back to his stomach. He pulls on his pant leg to try and help get himself over. It is so funny to watch him. He has also discovered that his feet have socks on them and he is taking them off! OHHH not sure how I forgot this but he got in his first pool while we were in Wisconsin too. He absolutely loved it. He was so exhausted after being in there for an hour. We have also started giving him baths in the big tub. Jason takes a bath with him and they both love spending the time together playing! It is so amazing to see how he is turning into such a lil guy. He is getting so much more personality. We both love to just watch him interact with the world around him. It is truly amazing to watch. He is now 5 months and is somewhere between 15 and 16 pounds. He has his 6 month check up at the end of the month so I will be sure to update again then!

Hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :-)
