The ad was placed on the website in hopes of maybe creating some revenue. Who knows if it will work, but if it does, its money in the bank.
The ads are placed by Google, so I trust them to put what's appropriate. If for any reason something is added that offends anyone, let me know, I will look into the problem and take any comments into consideration.
